Installs or provides assistance in the installation or repair of Temperature Measurement Systems at off-site facilities. Sets up and operates hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations or seams of fabricated metal products to produce quality precision parts to drawings and engineering information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interprets installation, reactor and routing drawings.
  • Completes the routing and bending of thermocouples.
  • Performs cold end repair on Tubeskin Thermocouples in the field.
  • Takes extended trips to different regions to be determined by the project requirements.
  • Works in a team while following directions from the crew supervisor.
  • Completes and reviews personal expense reports for accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Communicates responsibly with both customers and crews from different countries.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. 
  • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.  
  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc and gas metal arc welding. 
  • Monitors the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of materials. 
  • Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.  
  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.   
  • Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Performs ancillary duties as required. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a 5G welding test.
  • Must be able to pass LPI and X-ray. 
  • Ability to interpret blueprints or drawings.800 hours of onsite field work experience.
  • Must possess strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a valid passport and have the ability to travel and enter other countries.
  • Must be able to pass customer’s security, safety and drug testing requirements.
  • Knowledge in installing FlexR and tubeskins.
  • Accepts responsibilities and is accountable for his/her actions.
  • Adapts to changes in the workplace while maintaining a sustained pace and producing quality work.
  • Communicates effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Takes care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures and paying attention to minute details or a project or task.
  • Behaves calmly under stress and strain and completes assigned tasks under stressful situations.
  • Demonstrates conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards, as well as being dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English.
  • Works well in a team or group dynamic.
